Angeles Crest Highway

My Dragon Slayer rode strong today!! She knows we are leaving soon!! I can feel it… She has extra power and wants to fly with the wind!!  When I threw my leg over her saddle and started her up, the deep rumble of her pipes sent shivers of pleasure through me!!  A smile broke out on my face and suddenly any stress I was feeling about the Journey disappeared!!

I met my friend Stuart and we rode Angeles Crest Highway to Wrightwood. The Highway has been closed for a long time due to fires and floods and it was a pleasure to be riding it again.  There has been a lot of work to the Highway and it has been newly paved. What a treat!! As we rode into the mountains, the first thing I noticed were the beautiful flowers!! Fields and fields of yellow and purple flowers!! I wanted to stop and pick a saddle bag full of the purple ones!!   HA HA    The pollen of the yellow flowers tickled my nose and the scent of the trees was amazing!!  There were other riders although the roads were not crowded!! We saw some trikes and go carts also!! The most amazing thing I saw was a guy playing a drum set!!   There must have been 10 different drums to it!! It was an amazing site to behold!!

We had a great meal of ribs in Wrightwood before we headed home. Stuart peeled off at the 2 and I continued on the 5.  It was a nice day weather wise although I did forget my sun screen this time and my skin got slightly burnt.  I’m winding down this evening and tommorow I will work on packing my items for the Journey.   I’m ready for this Journey to Change and so is my Dragon Slayer!!
